В Художественном музее в Нижнем Новгороде открылась выставка одной картины — «Кающийся апостол Петр» Антониса ван Дейка. Об этом сообщает издание Pravda.nn.
Полотно принадлежит нижегородскому меценату, коллекционеру Дмитрию Володину. Работа ехала в город семь лет, так как ее арестовали во Франции. Как рассказал Володин, за полотно пришлось судиться, но решение было вынесено в его пользу.
Открытие выставки приурочено ко дню святых Петра и Павла, который католики отмечают 29 июня, а православные — 12 июля.
Коллекционер рассказал, что ван Дейку пришлось написать изображения всех 12 апостолов, чтобы его приняли в гильдию живописцев.
«Сегодня известно шесть портретов из этого цикла, все они разбросаны по миру, и до нас дошли имена только двух натурщиков, которые позировали художнику. Моделью для этого портрета был служитель гильдии святого Луки Абрахам Графеус, черты которого есть и на других портретах кисти ван Дейка», — сказал Володин.
